'Silver Linings Playbook' announced as Opening Film for the 14th Mumbai Film Festival
The anticipation for the city’s most eagerly awaited cultural event, the 14th Mumbai Film Festival, presented by Reliance Entertainment and American Express and organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image, has become even more intense with the announcement of its opening film, critically acclaimed comedy-drama film Silver Linings Playbook. Adapted from Matthew Quick’s novel of the same name, this David O Russell film boasts of a multi-star cast that includes Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Anupam Kher, Julia Stiles and Chris Tucker.

The 14th Mumbai Film Festival's stellar line up of over 200 movies and other highlights were revealed today at the curtain raiser press conference held at the NCPA in the presence of Mr. Shyam Benegal, Filmmaker and Chairman, MAMI, Mr. Amit Khanna, Chairman, Reliance Entertainment and Trustee, MAMI, Mr. Sudhir Mishra and Mr. Ramesh Sippy, Filmmakers & Trustees, MAMI, Mr. Srinivasan Narayanan, Director, Mumbai Film Festival, Mr. Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Entertainment, Mr. Sanjay Rishi, President, American Express India along with representatives from various consulates and dignitaries from the Indian Entertainment industry.
The 14th Mumbai Film Festival Announces A New Indian Competition Section
July 2012, Mumbai: The 14th Mumbai Film Festival organised by MAMI will take place from the 18-25 October,2012 and in the run up to the gala event has begun accepting entries for the much anticipated and New section, the Indian film competition titled "India Gold 2012".
This competition has been specially introduced this year by the 14th Mumbai Film Festival to celebrate the 100 years of Indian Cinema and aims at showcasing the best of Indian Cinema. Henceforth this section will become an annual part of the festival.

While the 13th Mumbai Film Festival continues to pack in cine-goers, treating them to the best of World Cinema, the focus on the Business of film has garnered equal response.
