Amit Khanna
Amit Khanna is a noted entertainment business leader, producer, writer, lyricist and director active in Indian film industry for about four decades.
He started his film career as an Executive Producer with Actor-Producer Dev Anand's banner “Nav Ketan“ in 1971. He wrote lyrics for about 400 film and non film albums.
He has written many scripts that include award winning films such 'Saaransh'. He has also written and directed many critically acclaimed films such as 'Man Pasand', 'Sheeshay Ka Ghar' and 'Shesh'. He has won several accolades including three National Awards for his films.
Mr. Khanna is also credited to have directed first Indian music video in 1984 with Nazia and Zoeb Hassan. “Plus Channel” that he set up in 1990 was a pioneer in film and television programming in India.
He is the Chairman of - Convergence Committee of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry), a Member of Prime Minister's Committee on Information, Communication & Entertainment (ICE), and Member of CII's (Confederation of Indian Industries) Entertainment & Media Committee.
He has been the President of All India Film Producers Council and Film & Television Producers Guild of India for three terms and has served the Association of Motion Picture & TV Program Producers as the Vice President for 17 years.
He has been on the Governing Councils of the Film Institutes in Pune and Kolkatta.
He is the first Indian to have served on the international Emmy Award Jury.
Currently Amit Khanna is the Chairman of Reliance Big Entertainment, Director of Reliance BIG TV & BIG Cinemas, a part of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
