Uma Da Cunha

Uma has represented international festivals such as Toronto and Locarno in the country and has programmed Indian cinema sections for Dubai, Locarno, River to River Indian Film Festival, Florence, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA), Bollywood and Beyond Festival, Stuttgart and Houston International Film Festival.

Her festival career began in mid 1970s with the Directorate of Film Festivals, the central government body responsible for organizing the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Her monograph published in 1967 under her maiden name Uma Krupanidhi on Satyajit Ray has been given place in the library of congress, United States.

Since 1998, she has been editing Film India Worldwide, a quarterly on Indian cinema and programming a special section of the same name for IFFI, Goa and festivals at Mumbai and Kolkata.

Uma was on the Un Certain Regard Jury of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival 2009.
